Hanoi Information

Hanoi become Vietnam’s capital since 1010, when the King Ly Thai To, Ly dynasty’s founder, transfer his capital from Hoa Lu­ (Ninh Binh - 145 km from Hanoi) to Thang long in the middle year of 1010.

Since then, Hanoi is Hanoi is the socical, cultural, and economic center of Vietnam. Hanoi still preserves many ancient architectural works including One Pillar Pagoda (built in 1042), the Temple of Literature (built in 1070), or the Old Quarter and over 600 pagodas. Around Hanoi, there are still many traditional handicrafts village. Feature with a delta region and many lakes located in the city, Hanoi gives you special natural charm.

Climate and weather of Hanoi

Hanoi area, lying in a plain, belong to the delta region of Red river, and far form sea, it features of hot climatic zone under the influence of South and Northeast monsoons. Winter is cold and dry and the Northeast monsoon are frequent. It is hot from April to June, but from July to September, there are sometimes have heavy rains and floods. Autumn and first haft of Winter which is the most beautiful season in Hanoi. Temperature in January is 16 C degree, in June 28 C degree (sometimes reaching 36 - 38). So the annual temperature variation from 8 to 38 C degree.
