Vietnamese rubber exports booming

VNBusinessNews - Viet Nam exported more than 9,000 tonnes of rubber in February, earning 13.4 million USD, announced the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The prices fetched by exported rubber have recently enjoyed remarkable increases, with rubber latex now sells for 1,137 USD per tonne, or 130 USD higher than the end of last year.

Export of staple goods increases

VNBusinessNews - Since early February, the export turnover of main goods has climbed compared with January, according to the Trade and Business Information Centre.

Turnover in February reached over US$1.6 billion, bringing the total in the first two months of this year to US$5.365 billion, 5% lower than the same period last year, due to sluggish exports in January.

VNBusinessNews - HCM City’s value of industrial production, in February, surged by 4.2% compared to the previous month, according to the HCM City Statistics Bureau.

Of which, the state-run industrial areas posted a rise of 6.8% and private economic sectors increased by 4.1% month on month.
Notably, the foreign invested economic areas rose only 2% due to the narrow export markets.
