Australian exporters to explore new markets in Vietnam, Malaysia
Exporters from the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) have their sights set on Viet Nam and Malaysia as potential export markets, and next April the Territory will conduct a 10-day trade mission to the two Asian countries.
The aim of the visit is to explore new business opportunities in Vietnam and build on existing relationships in Malaysia, ABC News reported.
ACT Chief Minister Jon Stanhope was quoted by ABC News as saying that the mission will focus on education and other service industries, such as defence and information technology.
“Viet Nam is one of the fastest-growing economies in Southeast Asia now, so on the basis of advice from most particularly Austrade, our partners in our business delegations, we’ve decided to explore opportunities in both Vietnam and Malaysia for Canberra businesses,” he said.
“We believe there will be opportunities and synergies.” (VNA)
