Customs violation fines increase
VNBusinessNews – A VND5-10 million (US$287-573) fine will be handed to people who don’t re-export temporarily imported goods that are duty-free, according to a recently-issued government decree.
The same fine will be applied to people who fail to re-export and re-import means of transport into or out of the country as outlined by law; or who keep in-transit goods in Vietnam longer than permitted.
Individuals caught violating customs and tax declaration laws will be fined up to VND20 million ($1,147), double the current fine.
Those caught violating regulations of customs supervision will be fined up to VND30 million ($1,720) (currently VND20 million).
Those caught violating regulations of customs control will be fined up to VND30 million (double the current fine).
