Deputy PM hails BIDV for its business and social achievements
Deputy Prime Minister Truong Vinh Trong visited the Bank for Investment and Development of Viet Nam (BIDV) on February 2 during the Lunar New Year, praising their achievements in 2008.
Meeting with the bank’s representatives, Mr Trong expressed his wish that the BIDV staff would build on their solidarity and creativity to make further contributions in 2009, helping effectively implement the government’s stimulus package and social security policies.
In 2008, BIDV surpassed all its business targets despite facing numerous difficulties. It also mobilized VND35 billion, including VND28 billion from its partners, for social work.
The bank has hammered out plans for 2009, including a social security programme worth VND272 billion for the 2009-2010 period with a focus on handling natural disasters, building clinics in remote areas, and building schools and houses for the poor. (VOV)
