Export promotion campaign aims to dodge recession
A US$3.6 million Ministry of Industry and Trade campaign will promote key exports to help Vietnamese products retain their market shares during the global economic crisis.
The VND63 billion package, proposed by business associations and the ministry’s trade promotion agency, consists of 44 projects in the first stage, including trade fairs and major advertising campaigns for companies exporting seafood, processed wood, handicrafts, footwear, software, textiles and garments.
The promotion will target the US, Europe, Hong Kong, Japan, Dubai, China, Russia and the Czech Republic.
Vietnam earned $62.9 billion in exports last year, a 29.5% increase year-on-year, according to the General Statistics Office.
