FPT successfully tests wireless internet WiMax
VNBusinessNews – FPT Telecom announced that it had successfully tested the new wireless internet WiMax technology on February 19th.
This success paves the way for supplying telecommunication services based on the new technology.
Nguyen Dinh Hung, Deputy Director of FPT Telecom said that his company successfully held a trial run of WiMax technology, supplying high-speed internet access, video downloads and transferring data and phone calls via wireless internet in central Hanoi at the speed of up to 15Mbps within the radius of three kilometres of a pilot WiMax station.
The users of the service will need only a laptop and a WiMax receiver to use FPT’s services over the new wireless technology.
FPT Telecom is one of the five internet providers approved by the Ministry of Information and Telecommunication to test the new wireless WiMax technology.
The other providers are VDC, EVN Telecom, Viettel and VTC.
