Gas prices increase sharply
Gas prices will increase sharply by VND20,000-30,000 per barrel as of February 2, according to local gas trading companies.
Gas distributors say that the selling prices of Shell Gas will increase by VND25,000 per barrel, that of Vinagas and Petronas by VND20,000 per barrel and that of Saigon Petro VND30,000 per barrel.
The increase is attributed to the rise in the world’s gas prices. A branch of Dai Quang Minh Gas Distributor in HCM City said that the increase will greatly affect purchase power in the local market, which was already declining at the beginning of this year.
The retail gas price now stands at VND215,000 for a 12-kg barrel.
