Hanoi-Nanning rail service launched
A railway service from Hanoi to China ’s Nanning city was officially launched at the outlying Gia Lam railway station on January 2.
The train used for the route has six air-conditioning carriages with hard and soft beds, serving up to 250 passengers.
The 400km-long rail journey will depart from the Gia Lam railway station in Hanoi at 7:25 p.m and arrive in Nanning city at 9:05 a.m the following day.
The overland trip will stop for passengers getting on and off at six stations with three in Vietnam and three in China .
Nanning city is the capital of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in the south of China . It is a transit destination for Vietnamese visitors to China and Chinese tourists to Viet Nam.
