Hanoi’s January CPI rises by 0.29 percent
Hanoi’s CPI in January 2009 rose by 0.29% from the last month of 2008. Particularly, the price of restaurant services surged 0.64% while that of culture, entertainment and tourism increased 0.89%, drinks and tobacco up 0.99%, and garment, headwear and footwear up 1.22%.
In a recent talk with Vneconomy, Nguyen Duc Thang—head of Department of Commerce and Service (under general Statistic Department) estimated that the entire country’s CPI in January could grow by 0.5% month on month.
