Nearly 40,000 Vietnamese on Facebook
Nearly 40,000 Vietnamese people are on Facebook, according to Facebook’s statistics for the fourth quarter of 2008, posted on marketing blog Techno/Marketer.
The number of Vietnamese Facebook users has grown 68% since the third quarter of 2008.
Despite the climbing numbers, Viet Nam accounts for just a fraction of the total global Facebook population, which reached 138.6 million by the end of 2008.
The US takes the lead with 42 million users, followed by the UK with nearly 15 million, then Canada, Turkey, France and Italy. The increase of Vietnamese Facebook users is a threat to other social networks in Viet Nam, particularly Yahoo! 360.
