Nghe An Province taps $1.2 billion for new investment projects

VNBusinessNews – Enterprises and business groups Saturday signed agreements for 22 new investment projects worth about VND21 trillion (US$1.2 billion) in central Nghe An Province.

The investment promotion conference organized by the province also saw the signing of four social welfare projects worth more than VND70 billion ($4 million).

Speaking to representatives of more than 300 enterprises at the conference, People’s Committee Chairman Phan Dinh Trac said the province would offer incentive policies to attract investment needed for infrastructure, services sector, machinery, minerals processing and exploiting, electronics and seafood industries.

Since 2001, the province has attracted 25 foreign direct investment projects worth $252 million, and 235 domestic-investment projects worth VND54.2 trillion ($3.1 billion). (TN)
