Petrovietnam awarded Labour Hero title
The Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group, Petrovietnam, organised a ceremony today in Hanoi to receive the Labour Hero title, the noble award of the State President.
This is to recognise the great contributions of the group to national development and defence.
Mr Tran Le Dong, general director of Vietsovpetro, also recognised as a Labour Hero.
In 2008, despite great difficulties, Petrovietnam had far exceeded its targets in revenue, State contribution and export turnover.
For the first time, the group's total revenue hit over VND 280 trillion, equivalent to 149.6% of the targeted figure. Petrovietnam contributed VND 122 trillion to the State budget and earned over VND 11 billion from exports.
This year, the group targets to explore 24 million tonnes of equivalent oil, export 11.7 million tonnes of crude oil, supply 3.5 million tonnes of crude oil to the Dung Quat Refinery which is scheduled to start operation in late February.
