State President extends new year wishes to local businesses
State President Nguyen Minh Triet expressed his wish that the Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) and the Asian Commercial Bank (ACB) would see better business results this year, contributing to the country’s socio-economic development.
During his visits to SJC and ACB on January 30, the fifth day of the Lunar New Year, the State leader said he was pleased with the two businesses’ outstanding achievements over the past year despite difficulties resulting from the global economic crisis.
In 2008, SJC recorded a revenue of 3.6 billion USD, equivalent to the amount accumulated during the previous 19 years, and contributed 120 billion VND to the State budget.
ACB, with its total asset reaching over 115 trillion VND (6.7 billion USD), posted a pre-tax profit of over 2.5 trillion VND last year. (VNA)
