Vietnam Jan Coffee Exports Down 18.8% On Year At 2.3M Bags
Vietnam’s January coffee exports are estimated to have fallen 18.8% on year in volume and decreased 30.2% in value, according to estimates issued Thursday by the General Statistics Office.
The GSO said January coffee exports are expected to total 140,000 metric tons, or 2.3 million 60-kilogram bags, valued at $217 million.
In January 2008, Viet Nam exported 172,800 tons valued at $311 million.
In the first four months of the 2008-09 coffee crop, Viet Nam exported 239,000 tons, down 40% on year. (Dow Jones)
