Vietnam set to become regional largest crude oil exporter

VNBusinessNews - The Japanese Television channel, NHK, on Feb. 23 covered the inauguration ceremony of the Dung Quat Oil Refinery in the central province of Quang Ngai in the presence of Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, senior Government officials and the heads of the Viet Nam National Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam).

The NHK quoted PM Dung as saying that the opening of the Dung Quat Oil Refinery will make a significant contribution to Vietnam’s socio-economic development.

The Japanese station termed the Dung Quat Oil Refinery as one of the most modern in Asia, built with a total investment of US$2.7 billion and a design capacity to refine nearly 6 million tonnes of crude oil a year.

The opening of the Dung Quat Oil Refinery will make Viet Nam become the largest exporter of crude oil in Southeast Asia, NHK said.
