Vietnamese rubber exports booming
VNBusinessNews – Viet Nam exported more than 9,000 tonnes of rubber in February, earning 13.4 million USD, announced the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
The prices fetched by exported rubber have recently enjoyed remarkable increases, with rubber latex now sells for 1,137 USD per tonne, or 130 USD higher than the end of last year.
China remained Vietnam’s largest importer of rubber, with the busiest export-import activity being conducted at the Mong Cai border gate, where the rubber prices have risen by 57 USD per tonne over the course of just one week.
The ministry revealed that around 20 Chinese companies and traders have registered to import rubber from Vietnam, with an average daily trade of 400 tonnes. The number of Chinese rubber importers is expected to double in the near future.
