Vietnam’s oil production output targeted at 24m tonnes in 2009
PetroVietnam targets to reach an oil production output of 14 million tonnes in 2009, including 16 million tonnes of crude and condensate oil, and 8 billion cubic metres of gas.
To gain the above target, the petroleum sector is launching exploration and drilling projects overseas to increase production output to 35-40 million tonnes of convertible oil through joint ventures with Venezuela and Russia, supporting and encouraging drilling at new oilfields, speeding up construction on Dung Quat Oil Refinery, Nghi Son petrochemical complex, Long Son oil refinery and Southern Petrochemical Complex.
