Vung Tau launches another multi-purpose seaport

VNBusinessNews – The oil-rich southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau commenced operations at a new seaport on February 6. The new port has been built to handle exports of nitrogenous fertiliser from Phu My plant, as well as a range of other petroleum products.

On the day of the inauguration, the port welcomed a 264m-long Bahamanian cruise liner, the ‘Legend of the Sea’, carrying more than 1,800 international tourists and a 735-strong crew.

The port was built at a cost of over 530 billion VND and covers a land area of just under 26.5 ha. It is designed to be capable of accommodating vessels of up to 30,000 DWT.
