Vietnam’s equity movers: long an food processing, vinamilk

Nov. 21 (Bloomberg) — Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Vietnam trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the close.
The VN Index, the benchmark measure of the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, retreated 0.1 percent to 379.14, a third day of losses.
Long An Food Processing Co. (LAF VN), which processes cashews, fell 2.3 percent to 12,700 dong, the lowest level since Feb. 25, 2010. New-S Securities Co., a major shareholder, cut its stake in the company to 13.48 percent from 13.56 percent, according to a statement on the exchange’s website.
Vietnam Dairy Products Joint-Stock Co. (VNM VN), known as Vinamilk, climbed 4.4 percent to 142,000 dong, the steepest jump since Nov. 2. The company plans to buy back 12,230 shares Nov. 18 until Dec. 31, it said in a statement on the bourse’s website.
